Melissa P. Beauchemin is an Assistant Professor at Columbia University School of Nursing. She is also the Scientific Lead of Cancer Care Delivery Research for the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Minority-Underserved National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) at Columbia University. She is Vice-Chair for Cancer Care Delivery Research in the Children’s Oncology Group. Clinically, she has practiced as a pediatric oncology nurse practitioner for over 15 years. The goal of Dr. Beauchemin's research is to improve equitable care delivery for young people with cancer. To this end, she uses patient- and community-informed research methods and inclusive study designs to develop, test, and implement interventions to identify and address financial toxicity and health-related social needs during and after cancer treatment for children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Beauchemin received her PhD, MSN, and BSN from Columbia University School of Nursing and her BA from Boston College. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Epidemiology at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University.
