Bobby Bellflower is a Professor and Director of the DNP program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She directs one of the larger DNP programs in the country, with almost 300 DNP students (the program was an earlier adopter of the DNP and has admitted only DNP students since 2010). She is part of several multi-million-dollar HRSA grants that help students obtain APRN education and practice in underserved and underrepresented areas in Memphis and the mid-south. Dr. Bellflower is also a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) and has practiced in Level III and Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Units in underserved areas in Memphis, TN. The Governor of TN appointed her as the co-chair of a team to help decrease prematurity and infant mortality in TN. She helped develop and implement the plan, and over a 10-year period, the infant mortality rate decreased by 29%. She obtained her BSN at the University of Memphis and her MSN and DNSc at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
