Angela D. Banks is a tenured full professor at the University of San Francisco and former chairperson of the BSN nursing department. Dr. Banks teaches pharmacology and pathophysiology to undergraduate nursing students. Her commitment to education transcends borders, as evidenced by her role as a Fulbright Scholar in Jordan, where she taught graduate nursing students at the Jordan University of Science and Technology. During her time there, Dr. Banks secured financial aid for Middle Eastern students pursuing higher education by running her first marathon from Amman, Jordan to the Dead Sea, raising considerable funds for student books and tuition. Upon her return to the United States, Dr. Banks devoted eight years to grant writing, securing scholarships for over 400 students of color at the University of San Francisco. Her tireless efforts have resulted in the acquisition of an impressive $5.6 million in federal and state funding, significantly enriching educational opportunities for underrepresented students. Her talent, expertise, and unwavering advocacy have significantly impacted the educational landscape, embodying a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Dr. Banks earned a PhD from the University of California, San Francisco, a MN from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a BSN from the University of Illinois, Chicago.
