Purpose Statement

The health care leader of today and the not-so-distant future must contend with an ever-evolving landscape driven by changes to policy, technology, and competing barriers to health and well-being.

The patient, clinician, and public experience within the health care industry may and, more importantly, should adapt and transform to ensure positive trends in health outcomes. This conference will explore the role of leaders as navigators and translators who assess risk, forecast scenarios, and adopt communication strategies to ensure progress is made. Attendees will hear from interprofessional speakers who will challenge them to imagine innovative ways to communicate information, understand when mistrust is an obstacle in building partnerships, and draw upon historical insights to navigate the present and prepare for the future. The American Academy of Nursing (Academy) invites Fellows, nurses, students, policymakers, and other stakeholders to join this dynamic dialogue to champion evidence-driven policy solutions and help achieve the Academy’s vision of Healthy Lives for All People.
